NORTHWEST RURAL PRESERVATION ASSOCIATION
to protect and preserve the rural culture and lifestyle of the Rural Neighborhood Preservation lands
registered domestic nonprofit under NRS Chapter 82
Our Idea
The story of the Northwest Rural Preservation Association began with concerned neighbors seeking to preserve the uniqueness of rural living and large ranch homes on open acreage. Newer neighbors now living in this unique rural area may be unaware of the history and treasure of these protected lands.
Long-time residents have long endured the encroachment of urban sprawl into the open spaces protected by the Nevada Revised Statutes, yet felt helpless to slow the nibbling away of their neighborhood. Our unique lifestyle of ranch living and equestrian uses, larger parcels often with livestock on property, small orchards, and quiet living was changing. With the passion to be more involved, this association was formed to protect and preserve the rural culture and lifestyle that is unique to the Rural Neighborhood Preservation.
Our purpose is to educate the public regarding rural neighborhood preservation, the state statutes, master plans, comprehensive plans, local ordinances, and developmental concerns that impact the unique character of the area. We aim to ensure local and state representatives maintain compliance with these documents and to communicate with the community regarding changes and development, and to reduce the impacts of urban encroachment. We seek to promote a sense of unity in the neighborhood and to cultivate lasting friendships as neighbors.
